The Lifetime Achievement Award is given to a person who has demonstrated exceptional vision, dedication and tenacity in improving the film industry.
In choosing a recipient for the OIFF Lifetime Achievement Award several things are considered, including years of service, leadership, and character.
King’s 32 years with the Space Coast Office of Tourism/Film resulted in far reaching benefits in the film industry while at the same time created jobs and increased tourism in the Florida Space Coast community. During her exceptional career, she served on high school advisory boards for hospitality and entertainment in Merritt Island and Rockledge, sponsored the Melbourne Independent Film Festival and served on the Meetings and Conventions Committee for Visit Florida. We applaud her recent reelection as the President of Film Florida, a state-wide, not-for-profit entertainment production trade association that serves a leadership role in Florida’s film, TV, production and digital media/tech industry by representing all aspects of the business including film commissions, industry, labor, associations and education. King’s outstanding accomplishments have distinguished her as a leader in the film and entertainment industry.
The Award will be given May 30, 2020 during the OIFF Awards Celebration at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida.
